The  Sessions Court of Sindh's capital, Karachi, sentenced the husband to three years in prison and a fine

The Sessions Court of Sindh's capital, Karachi, sentenced the husband to three years in prison and a fine of Rs 30,000 for having forced sex with his wife in an unnatural manner.

In 2021, the government of Pakistan amended the Penal Code of Pakistan to make it a crime for a husband to have sex with his wife in a forced and unnatural manner.

In the year 2021, the Rape Act was amended, according to Section 375 of the Pakistan Penal Code, having sex with any woman without her consent is rape and punishable by it.

According to the English newspaper The News, the session court of Karachi sentenced the husband to 3 years imprisonment and to pay a fine of 30,000 rupees after the husband was found guilty of unnatural sex.

The victim told the court that after their marriage in July 2022, her husband continued to have 'forced intercourse' with her.

The woman told the court that she informed her mother-in-law about this after two months of marriage, but Javed's mother ignored her.

According to the woman, her husband used to perform oral and anal sex with her in an unnatural manner and because of this she also got sick, after which she was forced to file a report in Chakiwara police station and a case was registered against her husband.

In light of the evidence, the court sentenced the husband to imprisonment and fine for having unnatural sex with his wife.

Behzad Akbar, the lawyer of the victim, said that the above punishment has been given for the first time in Sindh, whereas no one has been punished for marital rape or adultery in the past in Pakistan.
