Karachi The Executive Council of the Sindh Madressatul Islam University Teachers' Association (SMUTA) organized a memorable dinner event to celebrate and honor the extension of tenure granted to Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Mujeebuddin Sahrai Memon at Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU). The event was attended by distinguished guests including Presidents of various associations, Deans, Heads of Academic Departments, and Principal Officers, was a testament to the collaborative spirit and unity among the stakeholders of SMIU.
The dinner event served as a platform for expressing gratitude to Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeebuddin Sahrai Memon for his exceptional leadership and vision that have significantly contributed to the advancement and prosperity of SMIU. His tenure extension reflects the widespread acknowledgment of his remarkable achievements and the trust placed in his ability to continue leading the institution toward greater heights of excellence.
On the occasion, all the stakeholders of the university lauded the decision of Chairman Sindh HEC, and the honorable Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah for making a timely and right decision that shall certainly result in continued growth of SMIU.
The gathering witnessed heartfelt expressions of appreciation from the Executive Council members of SMUTA, who extended their sincere thanks to the Vice Chancellor and all the distinguished guests for their valuable time and participation in the event. The presence of the Presidents of SMUTA, the SMI Officers’ Association, the SMI Employee Welfare Association, SMI School Teachers’ Association, underscored the collective support and confidence of all stakeholders in Vice Chancellor Dr. Memon's initiatives and strategic direction for the university.

During the dinner event, the SMUTA leadership took a firm stand against the wrongful use of the association's name for personal interests by certain faculty members. SMUTA leadership emphasized that these individuals while claiming to represent the faculty, lack any legitimate mandate from SMUTA and have been rejected by a significant majority of its members. It was reiterated that the membership of these individuals has been suspended by SMUTA, as validated by the rejection of two-thirds of SMUTA members. Their actions, which seek to tarnish the esteemed name of Sindh Madressatul Islam University and mislead stakeholders, are not only regrettable but also entirely unacceptable.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeebuddin Sahrai Memon expressed his gratitude for the continued support and collaboration of the university's faculty, staff, and administrative leadership. He reaffirmed his commitment to fostering an environment of academic excellence, research innovation, and holistic development at SMIU, ensuring that it remains a beacon of knowledge and learning for generations to come.
