Karachi. Secretary Information Department Nadeem-ur-Rehman Memon said that effective and efficient steps are being taken to uplift and revamp Sindh Information Department, this he said while presiding over the 23rd progress review meeting of different directorates of the department in his office on Friday. He said that besides image building of the Sindh Government, the Sindh Information Department (SID) is also sharing the public demands and grievances to the concerned quarters for taking prompt notice and necessary actions. He said in order to take notices of the public complaints, the monitoring of print, electronic and social media has been extended to modern patterns as the complaints could be shared with the concerned departments timely. The Secretary Information said that in addition to revision of the advertisement policy for necessary amendments, the department is also going to prepare and finalize the publication policy and other necessary media laws pertaining to film, press and publications. “Recruitment rules are being again re-framed from grade one to onward”, he said. He also said that staff of the information department working in lower grades from 1 to 15 are being promoted on time after fulfillment of codal formalities. Nadeem–ur-Rehman Memon said that the Information department believes in proactive disclosure of Information under Section 6 and 7 of Sindh Transparency and Right to Information Act, 2016, and all applications coming either directly or from the Sindh Information Commission (SIC) are being disposed of timely. He thanked the Minister of the department Sharjeel Inam Memon for his full support in disposing of matters of media houses promptly. The secretary said that all the pending payments will be cleared after a third party audit report, for this purpose the audit firm has been hired for verification of the claims of liability dues. In meeting, Muhammad Yousuf Kaboro, Director Advertisement, Mansoor Ahmed Rajput, Director Administration and Accounts, Akhtar Ali Surhio, Director Press Information, Imtiaz Ali Joyo, Director Publication, Muhammad Ali Riaz Memon, Director Press, Moizuddin Pirzada, Director Planning & Development, Syed Muhammad Azeem Shah, Director Legal, Faisal Farooqui, Director Social Media, Fida Hussain Baladi, Director Electronic Media, Muhammad Kamran, Director Research and Reference shared the progress of their respective directorates. Deputy Directors Sarwar Samejo, Sarang Latif Chandio, Sahib Khan Bhand and Information Officers of various sections and directorates also attended the meeting.
