Dr. Nafisa Shah, Member National Assembly, and Dr. Arjumand Nizami, Country Director, have empowered women artisans in Khairpur by inaugurating two state-of-the-art facilities in Bhat and Agha Ali Jatoi. This milestone event was attended by esteemed guests, including Dr. Jawad Ali and Munawar Khattak from Helvetas Pakistan, Ms. Abida Jumani, General Manager of Indus Crafts Foundation, and a large number of skilled artisan women.
Dr. Nafisa Shah expressed her vision for the global recognition of Khairpur's handicrafts, highlighting the immense talent and potential of the region's artisans. Dr. Arjumand Nizami reaffirmed Helvetas Pakistan's commitment to supporting flood victims and promoting sustainable livelihoods.
As a token of appreciation and encouragement, craft toolkits were distributed among the skilled women, enabling them to hone their skills and contribute to the local economy. This initiative is a shining example of women empowerment and community development in Pakistan.
