Karachi, Pakistan – A three-day workshop titled "Increasing Awareness of the U.S.-Pakistan Partnership through Reporting" was successfully conducted by Media Foundation 360 in collaboration with the US Consulate General Karachi from January 23rd to 25th, 2025.
Held at the Karachi Beach Luxury Hotel, the workshop brought together 25 journalists from various Pakistani media outlets, including electronic media (TV, Radio), newspapers, and digital platforms.
The workshop covered a wide range of topics aimed at enhancing journalistic skills and understanding of the U.S.-Pakistan relationship.
Day 1:
• The inaugural session focused on "An Introduction to Media Training" conducted by Mujtaba Rathore, Consultant at Media Foundation 360.
• Subsequent sessions covered "Ensuring Accuracy: Fact-Checking for Credible Reporting" and "The Role of Investigative Journalism in Safeguarding Democracies," both led by senior journalist and trainer, Tehmina Qureshi.
• The day concluded with a session on "Mastering RTI: Crafting Effective Requests for Public Information" by Mubasher Bukhari, President of Media Foundation 360.
Day 2:
• The second day explored "The Power of Reliable Sources: Enhancing News with Expert Voices" by Fatima Ali, a senior journalist and trainer.
• "Interview Techniques for Extracting Key Information" was expertly handled by Tauseef Razi Malik, Editor, Producer, and Trainer.
• The afternoon sessions included "Mastering News: From Fact to Perspectives" by Lubna Jerar Naqvi, a senior journalist and trainer,
and "Visual Storytelling: Crafting Compelling Video Reports" by Fatima Ali.
Day 3:
• The final day delved into "Building Bridges: Reporting on the Pakistan-US Strategic Relationship" led by Lubna Jerar Naqvi.
• Mubasher Bukhari, President of Media Foundation 360, concluded the workshop with a session on "The Future of Reporting: Innovation in Field Reporting and Tours."
Networking and Closing Remarks:
• A networking dinner was arranged for the participating journalists to foster interaction and exchange ideas.
• In his closing remarks, Mubasher Bukhari emphasized the importance of equipping journalists with modern scientific and technical methods to enhance their professional capabilities.
