Welfare of Officers is Sindh Government's Priority, Shahid Thaheem
Karachi — The Sindh Government has approved an increase in the House Rent Allowance for officers in grades 17 and above at the Sindh Employees' Social Security Institution (SESSI). A notification to this effect has been issued, raising the allowance from 80% to 85%.
This significant and welfare-driven decision reflects the personal interest and worker-friendly policies of Minister for Labour Sindh, Shahid Thaheem, aimed at ensuring the financial well-being of government officers and enhancing the overall efficiency of the institution.
Minister Shahid Thaheem stated, "Officers working in the Labour and Social Security Department play a vital role in serving the working class. We are taking every possible step to facilitate and encourage them. The increase in House Rent Allowance was inevitable due to the ongoing inflation, and the Sindh Government believes that those working diligently in their respective institutions should be provided with better facilities."
He further emphasized, "The welfare of government employees is a key policy objective of the Sindh Government. We are implementing reforms in the institution to ensure that both workers and officers prosper."
The notification has been issued based on the decision taken in the 171st meeting of SESSI’s Governing Body, chaired by Minister Shahid Thaheem. According to the notification, the increased allowance will be effective from the date of the meeting, i.e., February 13, 2025, and relevant authorities have been directed to ensure its immediate implementation.
