Iran-Israel Conflict Escalates: Missile Strikes, Tehran Shaken, Rising Casualties in Israel

Tensions between Iran and Israel have intensified, with both nations engaging in missile strikes. On Saturday morning, Iran launched ballistic missiles at Israel, prompting retaliatory airstrikes on Tehran and other Iranian cities. Air raid sirens sounded in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, while explosions were heard in Tehran.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards claimed responsibility for the missile attacks, while the Israeli Defense Forces reported that several missiles had been intercepted. Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei vowed to deliver “severe blows” in response to Israeli strikes. The Revolutionary Guards named their counterattack “Operation True Promise 3.”
Iran’s missile strikes resulted in the death of one Israeli woman and injured forty others, with two reported in critical condition. Meanwhile, Iran’s ambassador to the UN stated that Israeli airstrikes killed 78 Iranian citizens, including senior military officials, while more than 320 were injured, most of whom were civilians. Among the casualties were Iran’s armed forces chief Mohammad Bagheri, Revolutionary Guards commander-in-chief Hossein Salami, and six nuclear scientists.
Israel has declared that military operations will continue, while Iran warned that further attacks would be met with intensified retaliation. The international community is actively working to de-escalate the conflict, with the US, Saudi Arabia, and other nations urging restraint. The ongoing hostilities have led to rising oil prices and economic concerns worldwide.
The situation remains highly volatile, with further developments expected as diplomatic efforts continue. However, as of now, there are no signs of an immediate ceasefire.
