Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has taken notice of the incident of violence against a female camel in Sukkur and has ordered action against those responsible. The injured camel has been transferred to Karachi.
On the Chief Minister's instructions, the camel was moved from Sukkur to a shelter in Karachi. The CDRS shelter has named her "Sumi." According to the shelter administration, Sumi's leg is crushed, her jaw is broken, her tongue is burned, and her body bears severe wounds. The Chief Minister was informed that Sumi is unable to eat and is being administered IV fluids.
Murad Ali Shah stated that cruelty towards voiceless animals is intolerable and that strict action must be taken against those who harm animals. The previous night, some individuals attacked the camel with axes and fled the scene.
