Karachi On the instructions of Sindh Minister for Livestock and Fisheries, Muhammad Ali Malkani, a vigorous daily operation against encroachments and a comprehensive cleanliness campaign are ongoing at Karachi Fish Harbour. The purpose of the campaign is to improve the harbour’s environment, restore smooth traffic flow, and enhance facilities for fishermen. According to the Managing Director of the Karachi Fish Harbour Authority, all illegal encroachments around the harbour have been removed, roads have been fully cleared and cleaned, and special teams are addressing issues related to garbage removal, debris clearance, and drainage. Provincial Minister Muhammad Ali Malkani stated that Karachi Fish Harbour is the heart of the province’s fisheries and fishing industry. The removal of encroachments and the maintenance of cleanliness and order will benefit not only fishermen but also traders and buyers. He added that these measures are part of the government’s vision to modernize the fisheries sector. The minister directed relevant officials to monitor the cleanliness operations daily, improve the drainage system, and establish a permanent monitoring mechanism to prevent the re-emergence of encroachments. Muhammad Ali Malkani emphasized that the Sindh government is committed to public welfare and environmental improvement. He reiterated that the goal is to develop Karachi Fish Harbour into a model harbour where cleanliness, order, convenience, and transparency are ensured. According to the Managing Director of the Fish Harbour Authority, daily spraying, garbage disposal, and cleaning activities are ongoing, along with an awareness campaign to encourage workers and fishermen to maintain cleanliness in their areas.
