Nawabshah The District Election Commissioner Office Shaheed Benazirabad organized a one-day awareness session on “Civic and Voters Education” at the Lecture Hall of Peoples University of Medical and Health Sciences for Women, Nawabshah. Joint Provincial Election Commissioner Sindh, Sain Bakhsh Chaner, attended the event as the Chief Guest.
Addressing the session, the Chief Guest Sain Bakhsh Chaner, Regional Election Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Muhammad Yousuf Siddiqui, Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleh Khaskheli, District Election Commissioner Muhammad Yousuf Majeedano, Director Muhammad Ali Sohail Memon, and other speakers highlighted that democracy is built upon the power of the people’s vote — a vote that enables citizens to take part in shaping their future. They emphasized that an informed voter is the foundation of a strong democratic system.
Speakers further stated, “Your vote is your voice, and this voice shapes a better future.” Voting, they said, is not only a constitutional right but also a national responsibility. By casting their vote, citizens not only choose their representatives but also contribute to the country’s development.
They urged the students to support the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) by spreading awareness among people in their villages and neighborhoods regarding the importance of voting and the registration process.
Regional Election Commissioner Muhammad Yousuf Siddiqui and District Election Commissioner Muhammad Yousuf Majeedano shared that, with the cooperation of NADRA, the ECP facilitated the issuance of around 4,000 CNICs through mobile registration vans across Shaheed Benazirabad Division to ensure the voter registration of women, persons with disabilities, youth, and transgender persons. They further stated that voter registration is essential for every man and woman.
Speakers also mentioned that the Election Commission has introduced a modern system for the transparency and timely updating of voter lists, enabling citizens to easily verify and register their votes.
During the session, students of Peoples Medical University delivered speeches in Sindhi, Urdu, and English on the importance of voter registration and participation in elections. The students also presented tableaus themed around elections.
Participants were provided with detailed information on voter registration procedures, polling rules, and the process of vote correction through awareness materials issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan.
At the conclusion of the event, the Chief Guest Sain Bakhsh Chaner and Regional Election Commissioner Muhammad Yousuf Siddiqui distributed honorary shields to Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Saleh Khaskheli, Information Officer Aijaz Ali Teevino, and other officers.
