During a meeting at his office, the Commissioner Sukkur Division directed Assistant Commissioner Sukkur City Sara Faraz to remain in regular contact with the women workers to understand their problems and mandated her to make periodic visits to the Dates' Market. Commissioner Sukkur directed that the Dates' Market be visited promptly to meet with the women workers and learn about their issues. Furthermore, meetings should be held with the traders of the Date Market, obligating them to promptly establish separate washrooms for the women workers, along with daily cleanliness facilities.
Commissioner Sukkur told the Assistant Commissioner Sukkur City that there are complaints that the female daily-wage workers in the Date Market are forced to work for very low wages to make both ends meet, which is a serious violation of human rights. Therefore, the matter of increasing the wages of women workers should also be raised in meetings with the traders.
