Court-martial completed: Former Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment

The court-martial proceedings against former Lieutenant General Faiz Hameed under the Pakistan Army Act have been completed, and according to ISPR he has been sentenced to 14 years of rigorous imprisonment, which will take effect from December 11, 2025. The trial lasted for 15 months during which four serious charges—engaging in political activities, violating the Official Secrets Act, misuse of authority, and causing harm to civilians—were brought against him and proven. During the proceedings, he was granted all legal rights and allowed to appoint a defense team of his choice, while he also retains the right to appeal the verdict before the relevant forum. ISPR further stated that matters related to alleged political incitement and instability are being dealt with separately.
