MQM Pakistan has stated that the federal government did not take the party into confidence over the decision to change the Governor of Sindh. Dr. Farooq Sattar said MQM should immediately withdraw from the federal government.
According to the MQM spokesperson, the party learned about the Governor’s replacement through the media. MQM Pakistan will soon decide its course of action regarding this matter. MQM leader Aminul Haque said consultations are ongoing within the party leadership over the Governor’s removal. Dr. Farooq Sattar added that MQM is an ally of the Pakistan Muslim League-N. He emphasized that the Governor’s office is a constitutional position that rightfully belongs to MQM, but the party is being deprived of it. Traditionally, the Governor of Sindh has been from MQM Pakistan. After such a unilateral decision, there is no justification for MQM to remain in the government. MQM should immediately step out of the federal government.
