Significant Growth in Pakistan’s Large-Scale Manufacturing Output


Islamabad: According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, large-scale manufacturing (LSM) output has recorded a notable increase of 5.75 percent. In January alone, production rose by 12.08 percent on a monthly basis. During the first seven months of the fiscal year, the LSM index stood at 121.46 points, compared to 114.85 points in the same period last year.

Compared to January of the previous year, production was 10.54 percent higher. Last January, the index was 130.27 points, while in December it stood at 128.48 points. Sector-wise growth included food (0.58%), beverages (0.23%), tobacco (0.16%), textiles (0.28%), and garments (1.34%).
