CM Murad Ali Shah Returns to Alma Mater for St. Patrick’s 165th Reunion, Pays Tribute to Legacy of Excellence

KARACHI Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah attended the historic 165th (Centennial Sapphire) Reunion of St. Patrick’s High School, marking a nostalgic homecoming at one of Karachi’s most prestigious educational institutions.
The event celebrated over a century (165 year) of academic excellence and nation-building contributions.
Upon arrival, the Chief Minister was warmly received by Archbishop Benny Travas, Chairman of the institution, and Fr. Mario A. Rodrigues, along with others.
CM Shah also interacted with fellow alumni, revisiting memories of his formative years at the school.
Addressing the gathering, the Chief Minister expressed deep pride and emotional connection with his alma mater, describing his return as “coming home.” He highlighted the pivotal role the institution has played in shaping generations of Pakistanis, emphasising the enduring values of discipline, humility, integrity, and service instilled within its walls.
He noted that for more than a century, St. Patrick’s High School has not only imparted quality education but has also nurtured character, promoted tolerance, and inspired excellence. Its alumni, he said, have made significant contributions across diverse fields including public service, business, education, science, sports, and the arts.
Paying tribute to the teachers and administrators, Mr Shah acknowledged their dedication and sacrifices, stating that institutions achieve greatness through the commitment of those who shape future generations.
Congratulating the entire St. Patrick’s community on reaching this remarkable milestone, the Chief Minister expressed hope that the institution will continue to serve as a beacon of learning, unity, and progress for years to come.
The ceremony concluded with cake cutting and launching of School logo by the chief minister and a renewed commitment to uphold the rich legacy of the institution.
