KARACHI: APTMA Demands Immediate Reopening of Cotton Exchange Building

The All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) has expressed deep concern over the continued closure of the historic Cotton Exchange building in Karachi. APTMA has urged authorities to immediately hand over possession of the building to the Karachi Cotton Association (KCA) and its legal tenants, in compliance with the Sindh High Court's decision. According to APTMA, the prolonged shutdown of this vital institution, which has served the national economy for over nine decades, is severely impacting stakeholders in the cotton and textile sectors. Furthermore, the closure of the globally top-ranked HVI laboratory has deprived the industry of a premier testing facility. APTMA emphasized the need to respect judicial orders and restore business activities to support national exports amid the current economic challenges.
