The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has arrested two suspected militants during a major operation in Karachi. According to CTD officials, the suspects were allegedly involved in several terrorist attacks, including the Karachi Airport attack, the Rangers mobile bombing, and the RRF truck attack. Authorities also claim that one of the arrested suspects supplied specially designed bags to those involved in the targeted killings of renowned qawwal Amjad Sabri and Military Police personnel.
The Counter Terrorism Department carried out an intelligence-based operation in Karachi, arresting two suspected militants affiliated with a banned outfit.
According to CTD officials, the suspects were allegedly involved in the 2013 IED attack on a Rangers mobile in Korangi, the 2014 Karachi Airport attack, and the 2015 bombing of an RRF truck using an explosives-laden motorcycle.
CTD officials further claimed that one of the arrested suspects had prepared and supplied specially designed bags to the assailants involved in the targeted killings of renowned qawwal Amjad Sabri and Military Police personnel to conceal spent bullet casings. Authorities also alleged that one of the suspect's close associates was involved in the suicide attack that killed senior police officer .
According to CTD officials, explosive-making materials and pistol catchers were recovered from the possession of the two arrested suspects. The investigation is ongoing, and further interrogations are underway.
