In District Umerkot, Sindh, a vital agricultural initiative has been launched to empower local cotton farmers with climate-smart techniques.


Organized by the Sami Foundation in collaboration with Better Cotton, these practical training sessions focused on promoting sustainable farming methods. Farmers received hands-on guidance on pest scouting and Economic Threshold Level monitoring to make informed pest control decisions


. The program emphasized eco-friendly solutions, including neem-based botanical pesticides, alongside the 4R Nutrient Stewardship approach to optimize fertilizer use. By improving soil health and enhancing crop yields, this capacity-building effort aims to lower input costs, protect the local ecosystem, and ensure long-term economic resilience for the cotton-growing communities of the region.
