Benazir Bhutto was elected the Prime Minister of Pakistan for the first time in 1988 and for the second time in 1993.
Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto's eldest daughter former Prime Minister Ms. Benazir Bhutto was born on June 21, 1953 in a famous political family of Sindh.
On April 4, 1979, she assumed the leadership of the Pakistan People's Party at the age of 29 after the death of her father.
On November 16, 1988, general elections were held in the country, in which the People's Party won the largest number of seats in the National Assembly. And Benazir Bhutto took oath as the first woman Prime Minister of the country and the Islamic world on December 2, 1988 at the age of 35.
Her government was soon overthrown, but she had the honor of becoming the female Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Islamic world twice.
Ms. Benazir Bhutto was martyred on December 27, 2007 after a rally in the historic Liaquat Bagh of Rawalpindi.
