Karachi Sindh Provincial Minister for Minority Affairs Giyan Chand Esrani has said that the attack on the temple in Ghoshpur could be a reaction to Seema Rind's alleged marriage with a Hindu boy.
Hindus living in Pakistan are patriotic Pakistanis and they are doing their life, business and worship with full freedom and equality. He made this statement during the question answer session at Sindh Assembly.
He further said that the attackers are also Pakistanis, so I tell them that the country is being defamed by such incidents. He said that the Hindus have been living here for thousands of years and they also enjoy complete freedom here.
He said that I believe that such attacks are a conspiracy against Pakistan by neighboring country and our neighboring country has taken such action to defame Pakistan under a plan. But here our citizens are conscious and have always protected their minorities.
There are mosques and temples at the same place, everyone has complete religious freedom. He said that our minorities have always faced this situation with bravery and have suffered their losses.
He said that the Muslim community and religious leaders have strongly condemned such an incident in this regard.
Special instructions have been given to the IG Sindh regarding the security of minorities and their temples adding that arrangements are being made for the complete protection of all the minority communities.
The Sindh government will provide complete protection to the minorities, he concluded.
