People associated with journalism can suffer from more psychological diseases

Regarding the mental problems faced by journalists, Dr. Khan Afridi, a well-known psychologist of Karachi, says that journalists should keep a distinction between their personal life and their professional life.

When we study the mind and behavior with a scientific method, we call it psychology.

Think of it like this: if a woman gets divorced, what effect does it have on her children? For her, psychology does not take care of a single child.

She takes about a thousand children.

Whose mothers are divorced. Then they study their effects. Psychology studies and examines the mind and behavior using scientific methods. Now what is this mind and behavior? Think of our mind as hardware, that is, you can touch it. But one is our mind, which is called mind in Urdu. Mind is our software

What we think, understand, what we make decisions? So all this is going on in our mind. In the same way, our behavior. That is, whatever action a human does. That is called his attitude. Sitting up, sleeping, waking up are all human behaviors

It is the same mind and behavior that we examine with the scientific method when we study why people get angry. Why stress is found in people. Today, the unemployment and the conditions in our country, what are the changes in people's attitudes and why are they actually psychological

Thus, there can be many reasons for psychological diseases, the first reason can be genetic. For example, if there is a disease in one's parents, then this disease can occur in the sons or grandsons. The second thing is that whenever we read about any such situation. Like someone gets divorced, someone has an accident, an emotional accident happens, like someone was scolded too much in childhood

Or if someone has too much work pressure, too much stress, there may be psychological diseases. The problems that come in our life or the problems that we deal with. That is, it can also be genetic because of our parents and the situations that happen in our country or in our life. Because of them, we can suffer from psychological diseases

There are many psychological diseases but in our country generally there are more than two to three types of psychological problems. In which the first severe panic disease is called anxiety disorder in English. This panic disorder is common to many people in our country. Internally we suffer from panic.

Outwardly no one knows but internally the heart beats faster. We are not able to communicate with people. So it is a mental illness. In this way depression can happen. That is, depression can happen. What happens in depression disease is that we do not feel like doing anything. We get frustrated. It is difficult for us to wake up in the morning. It happens. We do not feel heart in any work, it is called depression

People associated with journalism can suffer from more psychological diseases. The main reason for this is that whenever they are in the newsroom or somewhere else they are reporting. For them, as I said before, very difficult accidents and people and Reads from events. Which is not good at all for their mind. ۔

And they are at a much higher risk of developing psychosis. For example, if they are reporting an accident or an explosion. So it can have a great impact on their mental health, it can be dangerous for them. Journalists are at a huge risk. Their job is to deal with difficult things. Those who read them deal with difficult things. Due to which they are at higher risk. The mental health of journalists is very important. They should have regular training so that these people can be saved.

Journalists deal with situations that are very dangerous, such as reporting explosions or someone having an accident or political ups and downs. The other workload is a different kind of stress

You have to confirm the news and make it on air quickly. That news should be correct, there should not be any misrepresentation in it, your source should also be correct. At a time, the journalist takes too much load and pressure. Due to which your stress level goes very high. What actually happens is that you become a victim of stress. And the first disease that is waiting for you is sugar

Blood pressure, besides panic, anxiety can be the country we are reporting such incidents, they are not good. Unconsciously, journalists take the situation of the country personally. Because of which they think that maybe these are my problems. This is what we call diffusion, that is, you read the connection between an event and a problem or problems, so you don't know and after a while when you talk about them, you feel like maybe that problem is yours. That is, if there is a debt on Pakistan, then you think that all the debt is on me

Even in such conversations, you may suffer from a lot of nervous pressure. And then you may suffer from depression. 90% of people who are associated with this sector are disappointed, they start thinking that the conditions of our country cannot be better. What happens to them that the information they are reporting daily They are watching, it gives rise to a state of despair in their mind.

A journalist should keep a distinction between his personal life and his professional life.

For example, I am a psychologist. People come to us. People come to us with many problems. No. If you are reporting and have problems with Pakistan, first of all it is not your problem

It's someone else's problem, it's the government's problem, you don't make it personal. When you go to your home, don't discuss the country's situation with your spouse, your children, the country's situation, unemployment, these things should not be taken at home. Talk about love and peace there. Don't take these problems home. If you talk about sadness somewhere, it gets shared

Differentiate between personal life and professional life. Talk with your friends even at hotels. Every fifth person in Pakistan is suffering from some mental illness.
