CM visits Sr Syed PS, Children hospital

KARACHI Caretaker Sindh Chief Minister Justice (rtd) Maqbool Baqar took a surprise visit to two institutions - Sindh Government Children Hospital- New Karachi, and Sir Syed Police station, and while returning to the CM House also visited Government Elementary College of Education (GECE), Hussainabad.
Sir Syed Police station: The Chief Minister visited the Sir Syed Police station and found the motorcycles ceased as case property was rotting under the open skies. He directed the SSP Central to make a proper shade to protect the motorcycles.
The CM checked the weaponry, Malkhana, and daily diary and expressed his displeasure for not following the procedure. He directed the police to start a crackdown against the drug mafia and kept sending reports.
Children Hospital: The Chief Minister went to OPD and Emergency where he inquired into the availability of doctors, para-medical staff, and facilities.
The CM was told that Sindh Government Children Hospital (SCH) was a 213-bed hospital with consistently high bed occupancy, often reaching 100 percent.
This hospital serves approximately 600 patients in the Emergency department daily. On average, the hospital provides care to around 1,000 patients in OPD per day.
There was a higher number of patients in both the ER and OPD compared to any other children's hospital in the city. SGCH offers diet provision services for both mothers and children. This hospital provides a range of healthcare services that align with the standards of secondary healthcare facilities.
This hospital also provides NICU / PICU and OT services. This hospital provides all the necessary medical facilities at no cost.
The CM after visiting various wards of the hospital found it underutilized and directed the administration- a private partner, to utilize it properly. There was an issue of water in the hospital because the RO plant was not working. The CM directed Health dept and the deputy commissioner to help the private partner of the health dept to restore the RO Plant
