For the first time, a woman candidate from Chitral has won the general seat

to the inconclusive and unofficial results, for the first time a female
candidate from Upper Chitral region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) won the general
seat.
Independent
candidate Suriya Bibi defeated Jamiat Ulema Islam (JUI) candidate by securing
more than 18,000 votes from provincial constituency PK One Upper Chitral.
Suriya
Bibi became the first woman in the history of Chitral to win the general seat
election.
For
the first time from Upper Chitral, a woman contested on a general seat in a
provincial seat and the woman candidate defeated the traditional politicians.
