Three Sisters and Cousin Recovered from Karachi After Alleged Abduction from Shahdadpur; Claim Voluntary Conversion to Islam

Karachi/Shahdadpur A claim has been made that three sisters and their cousin, who were reported abducted from Shahdadpur, have been recovered from a shelter home in Karachi’s Orangi Town, within the jurisdiction of Noor Jehan Police Station. The girls—21-year-old Jeeya Bai, 19-year-old Diya Bai, and 15-year-old Disha Bai—and their 13-year-old cousin Hani Kumar were brought back to Shahdadpur late at night. According to police, they will be presented before a magistrate today to record their statements under Section 164. The shelter home is reportedly run by a welfare organization.

Meanwhile, police have arrested Farhan Khaskheli, a computer instructor accused in the case. During interrogation, videos were found on his WhatsApp showing the girls converting to Islam. Based on this, police took him to Karachi and recovered the children. The families of the girls allege that Farhan lured and abducted Disha and Hani from Shahdadpur, Jeeya from Hyderabad, and Diya from Dow University in Karachi.

Claim of Voluntary Conversion to Islam The three sisters and their cousin have released video statements claiming they converted to Islam of their own free will and were not abducted. These videos have gone viral on social media and were also received by the police and their families. However, the families have rejected the claims, saying the statements were made under duress.

Hindu Panchayat’s Reaction Vinod Kumar, president of the Shahdadpur Hindu Panchayat, expressed happiness over the recovery and demanded that the girls be allowed to meet their parents.

Shelter Home Affiliation Police confirmed that the shelter home where the girls were found is operated by a charitable organization.

Allegations by Hani’s Mother Hani Kumar’s mother, Paahi, claimed that Farhan used to pressure her son to convert to Islam and had even threatened to separate him from his family.
