Advocate Vasand Thari Slams PPP: Corruption, Anti-Sindh Policies Plunge Province into Poverty and unemployment.
Hyderabad (Press Release)The central president of Awami Tehreek, Advocate Vasand Thari, central general secretary Advocate Sajid Hussain Mahesar, Dr. Rasool Bux Khaskheli, Noor Nabi Palijo, and Advocate Ayaz Kaloi, in their joint press statement, said that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government is extracting and selling coal from Thar, but in return, the people of Thar are receiving nothing but disease, hunger, and misery. The large-scale coal mining has raised serious concerns about environmental degradation and the spread of epidemics across Sindh.
They noted that precious minerals are being extracted from every district of Sindh, including Thar, Karachi, Badin, Sanghar, Dadu, and Ghotki. Sindh also has a seaport, yet its people are being pushed to commit suicide due to extreme unemployment and poverty.
Millions of tons of coal from Thar have been provided to power-generating companies, yet Sindh does not receive the electricity it needs. The electricity produced in Sindh is powering industries in "Takht-e-Lahore" (Punjab), while Sindh’s own industries suffer from a lack of electricity. There is a deliberate conspiracy to shift Sindh's industries to Punjab.
The leaders said that the PPP is selling off Sindh’s resources and turning the province into a barren wasteland. Bilawal Zardari has transformed the Sindh government into a group dedicated to looting and selling the province’s wealth. The provincial government is not spending even a penny on public welfare. To making Bilawal the Prime Minister, all of Sindh’s resources are being sold off. Under the banners of "Corporate Farming" and "Green Pakistan", the resources of oppressed nations are being occupied.
They added that by supporting corporate farming, the PPP is conspiring to destroy Quaid-e-Azam’s Pakistan. The PPP had already contributed to the breakup of the country in the 1970s due to its lust for power, and now it is repeating the same conspiracy. The PPP has become a puppet dancing to the tunes of undemocratic forces.
The Awami Tehreek leaders demanded that the PPP must either reject nation-killing schemes like corporate farming or step down from power. A party that loots Sindh’s resources has no right to govern the province.
