Karachi – A doctor was shot dead in broad daylight in Lyari, Karachi, while heading out for his routine walk. The incident occurred near Bakra Piri within the jurisdiction of Kalakot Police Station.
Details of the Incident
The victim, identified as Dr. Shambhu Lal, also known as Dr. Lal, was attacked by two assailants on a motorcycle.
He had just left his clinic and was walking along the Lyari Expressway track when the attackers opened fire.
One of the assailants was reportedly wearing a helmet, while the other was dressed in black shalwar. The motive behind the killing remains unclear.
Police Investigation
A heavy police contingent arrived at the scene immediately after the shooting.
Initial findings suggest the doctor was being followed before being targeted.
Police recovered three 9mm bullet casings from the crime scene.
No personal enmity has surfaced so far, but investigators are exploring multiple angles, including extortion threats.
