In a shocking and dramatic turn of events, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Sukkur arrested TikToker Makhdoom Junaid, also known as Bashir Ahmed, in Karachi after a covert operation. The arrest took place near Abul Hassan Isphahani Road, on the route from Sohrab Goth to Karachi University.
Attempt to Evade Arrest:
According to NCCIA officials, the team led by Inspector Ulfat Sodhar acted on a tip-off and reached Karachi to apprehend the suspect. In an attempt to evade arrest, Makhdoom Junaid used his female relatives as human shields, instructing them to strip in public to create chaos and delay the operation.
During the arrest:
The women — Fahmida Makhdoom, Ghazala, and Kainat — stripped on the street and caused a public disturbance.
Junaid live-streamed the incident on Facebook, speaking in Sindhi and urging the women to remove their clothes. The video was later deleted.
Near Rajput Hospital, the suspect attacked an NCCIA officer with a butcher’s cleaver, seriously injuring him.
With assistance from a nearby Sachal police mobile, the NCCIA team managed to arrest Junaid and the three women.
Charges and Investigation:
The arrest was made following a complaint by Abdul Sabbar bin Abdul Samad Memon, a resident of Shikarpur. He alleged that Junaid blackmailed him using edited objectionable videos, extorting 4.4 million rupees, and later demanded an additional 7 million rupees, leaking the videos upon refusal.
The case was registered under Inquiry No. 182/2025 on August 1, 2025.
Digital evidence including screenshots of objectionable posts, threatening messages, and bank records confirmed the suspect’s activities.
Funds were traced to accounts registered under Makhdoom Bashir Ahmed, son of Shah Nawaz Makhdoom, residing in Shahbaz Colony, Kandiaro, District Naushahro Feroze.
