 Sindh Dengue Surge: 1,589 New Cases, 2 Deaths in 24 Hrs!

Karach The Sindh Health Department has released an updated report on confirmed dengue cases across the province. According to the report, a total of 5,978 dengue tests were conducted during the last 24 hours in Sindh, of which 1,589 results came back positive.


In Karachi Division, 4,444 tests were carried out with 876 positive cases confirmed. In Hyderabad Division, 1,534 testswere conducted and 713 cases were reported positive.


Secretary Health Sindh, Rehan Baloch, informed that 88 new patients were admitted to government hospitals while 92 new admissions were recorded in private hospitals during the last 24 hours. Meanwhile, 126 patients from government hospitals and 97 patients from private hospitals recovered and were discharged.


The report further confirms two dengue-related deaths across Sindh in the past 24 hours.


Secretary Rehan Baloch added that currently 210 dengue patients are admitted in government hospitals and 183 patientsare undergoing treatment in private hospitals.


He further stated that 256 beds have been allocated for dengue patients in Karachi’s government hospitals, 155 beds in Hyderabad, and 565 beds across the rest of Sindh, making a total of 976 dedicated beds in government facilities.


Similarly, 156 beds have been allocated in Karachi’s private hospitals, 184 beds in Hyderabad, and 66 beds in other districts — a total of 406 beds in private facilities across the province.


The Health Secretary informed that a total of 36 laboratories are currently conducting dengue testing in Karachi , including 11 government and 25 private labs , while 17 laboratories in Hyderabad are providing testing services, out of which 6 are government and 11 are private laboratories.
