SMIU ranked 6th among Sindh’s public universities by UI GreenMetric Rankings

Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) is ranked 6th among Sindh's public sector universities and 41st in Pakistan by UI GreenMetric Rankings, a notable global ranking focusing on sustainability.
Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai, Vice Chancellor of Sindh Madressatul Islam University has said that once again, it is a moment of great pride for SMIU. He said it gives immense pleasure to all the stakeholders on Sindh Madressatul Islam University’s significant progress in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings. He further said this year, SMIU has secured the 808th position globally, 476th in Asia, 41st in Pakistan, and 6th in Sindh compared to the last year’s position, 43 in Pakistan, 480 in Asia, and 863 globally. He maintained that SMIU’s upward trajectory clearly reflects our effective strategic planning and strong commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and advancing Green Campus Management.
The Vice Chancellor further said these improved global and regional standings reaffirm SMIU’s unwavering dedication to environmental stewardship and sustainable development. They further motivate us to continue strengthening our efforts to become a model green and resilient university in the region.
Dr. Mujeeb Sahrai extended heartiest congratulations to the Faculty of SMIU’s Department of Environmental Sciences and the Environmental Science Society for their valuable contributions in achieving this remarkable milestone.
