Gwadar: Repatriation of Pakistani students and pilgrims from Iran continues amid tense situation

In view of the current conditions in Iran, the repatriation of Pakistani students and pilgrims stranded there has accelerated. Yesterday, 33 students and 24 female students from Zanjan Medical University and Al-Mustafa University arrived in Gwadar, where the district administration warmly received them. Special arrangements for food, accommodation, and travel have been made by the administration.
According to the district administration, so far 131 students and more than 150 pilgrims have returned from Iran. However, more than 40 Pakistani students, mostly female, are still at Zanjan University. Calls are being made for the Government of Pakistan to take effective measures for their safe return.
During the past two days, nearly 200 Pakistani citizens have returned home through the Gabd–Reemdan border. Deputy Commissioner Gwadar, Naqeebullah Kakar, stated that today alone, 51 students have arrived from Iran. He added that more than 125 students have so far returned to Pakistan via the border route.
The district administration is providing food, accommodation, and travel facilities to the returning students. Naqeebullah Kakar further said that, given the current situation, the Pakistani Ambassador and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have made special arrangements for the repatriation of students and citizens.
