In Rawalpindi, a meeting was held at the Commissioner’s Office under the chairmanship of Punjab Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb.
Discussions focused on the Rawalpindi Development Plan, beautification projects, and matters related to Nullah Leh. The minister directed that a traffic diversion plan for construction sites be prepared within two days.
She remarked that controlling inflation during Ramadan is a major challenge and stressed that prices must be kept moderate. Maryam Aurangzeb instructed that the distribution of Nigehban Cards must be ensured with merit and transparency.
She announced that at 16 locations in Rawalpindi, 7,250 people will be provided daily iftar meals. Additionally, two rehri bazaars (street markets) and 60 fair price shops are being established in the city.
The minister directed the preparation of a feasibility study for a rainwater harvesting system in Rawalpindi. It was also decided to include Rawalpindi Cantonment areas in the Suthra Punjab (Clean Punjab) program.
She called for a summary on filter clinics in hospitals and ordered repairs to the waiting area of Benazir Bhutto Hospital. The court also instructed immediate removal of illegal bus and truck parking around Nullah Leh.
