Sindhyani Tehreek Leaders Call for Mass Participation in Rasool Bux Palijo Anniversary Gathering

THATTA – Central President of Sindhyani Tehreek, Umaira Samoon; Central President of Sindh Girls Students Tehreek, Kainat Halepoto; District President of Sindhyani Tehreek Thatta, Salma Lashari; and Akhtar Pilejo addressed a press conference at Thatta Press Club in connection with the 8th death anniversary of Awami Tehreek founder and revolutionary leader Rasool Bux Palijo.
The leaders said that visits had been carried out across villages and settlements of District Thatta, including Bhuhara, Mirpur Sakro, and surrounding areas, where meetings were held with women, students, and local residents. Invitations were extended to attend the grand public gathering scheduled for 7 June 2026 at Mangar Khan Palijo village near Jungshahi.
They highlighted Rasool Bux Palijo’s lifelong struggle for democracy, national rights, women’s liberation, peasants, workers, oppressed classes, and the survival of the Indus River, describing his legacy as a guiding light for Sindh.
The leaders announced that the upcoming gathering will present detailed positions on the 28th Constitutional Amendment, US imperialist policies, attempts to seize Sindh’s resources, rising violence against women, unemployment, inflation, canal projects on the Indus, and the plan to separate Karachi from Sindh.
They strongly criticized the Pakistan Peoples Party, accusing it of turning Sindh into “a living hell for women,” citing daily incidents of “Karo Kari” killings and the silence of state institutions. They also condemned the open drug trade, land grabbing, threats to Keenjhar and Haleji Lakes, encroachments on Bhambhor, and occupation of thousands of acres in the name of ZABIST.
Appealing through journalists, the leaders urged women, students, peasants, workers, writers, and democratic circles to participate in large numbers at the 7 June public gathering to pay tribute to Rasool Bux Palijo and strengthen the struggle for Sindh’s rights.
