🦟 Dengue Surge in Sindh: 1,186 New Cases in 24 Hours, Hyderabad Cases Double Karachi's

Karachi,The Sindh Health Department has released the latest report on confirmed dengue cases across the province, stating that a total of 4,500 dengue tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, out of which 1,186 tested positive.
In Karachi Division, 2,744 tests conducted with 421 confirmed positive cases. In Hyderabad Division, 1,756 tests were carried out, with 765 cases testing positive.
According to Secretary Health Sindh, Rehan Baloch, 125 new dengue patients were admitted to government hospitals, while 118 new patients were admitted to private hospitals during the past 24 hours. Meanwhile, 115 patients recovered and were discharged from government hospitals and 72 were discharged from private hospitals.
The Secretary further stated that no dengue-related deaths were reported in government hospitals across the province during the same period. Currently, 210 dengue patients are under treatment in government hospitals, while 248 patients remain admitted in private hospitals.
Regarding bed availability, he said that 256 beds have been allocated for dengue patients in government hospitals in Karachi, 155 in Hyderabad and 557 in the rest of Sindh — making a total of 968 beds. In private hospitals, 131 beds are allocated in Karachi, 175 in Hyderabad, and 36 in other districts, bringing the provincial total to 342 beds.
He also informed that 30 laboratories are carrying out dengue testing in Karachi, including 11 government and 19 private facilities. In Hyderabad, 21 labs are operational — 10 government and 11 private.
The Health Secretary urged citizens to ensure there is no stagnant water in and around their homes and workplaces, as it leads to mosquito breeding.
