Bhutto Highway to Open May 23: PPP Showcases Sindh’s Public-Private Model

Karachi Sindh Senior Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon, Provincial Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Investment and Public Private Partnership, and Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad visited Shahrah-e-Bhutto to review ongoing development work.
Speaking to the media, Memon announced that the project — constructed under a Public Private Partnership — will be inaugurated by PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on May 23. He said the completion of Shahrah-e-Bhutto will ease traffic congestion, cut travel time, and provide convenience to citizens.
On the same occasion, the groundbreaking ceremony of the Karachi Port–Qayyumabad Bridge will also be held, which is expected to reduce travel time from hours to minutes.
Memon emphasized that the Sindh Government is fulfilling its promises, while opponents of PPP are only engaged in propaganda. He highlighted that Sindh’s PPP model has been praised nationally, with the Prime Minister expressing interest in adopting it, and even the United Nations recognizing the Bhutto Highway initiative.
In response to a question, he clarified that the federal government has not contacted Sindh regarding any new constitutional amendment, urging the public not to pay attention to rumors.
