SMUTA demonstrates solidarity with employees of Sindh Agriculture University Umerkot Campus for non-payment of Salaries
KARACHI,
The Sindh Madressatul Islam University Teachers Association (SMUTA) observed a Black Day on Tuesday at the campus of SMIU to express solidarity with the employees of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Umerkot Campus, who have not received their salaries for the past three months and are enduring severe financial hardship.
In response to the call from the General Secretary of the Sindh Agriculture University Teachers Association (SAUTA), SMUTA members tied black bands on their arms and held placards to denounce the delay in salary disbursements and to demand immediate release of salaries.
Speaking on the occasion, the SMUTA representatives expressed deep concern over the financial difficulties faced by the faculty and staff at SAU Umerkot Campus. They emphasized that depriving employees of their due salaries is a grave injustice and undermines the dignity and morale of the academic community.
The president of the SMUTA, Assistant Professor Asif Hussain Samo, General Secretary, Assistant Professor Wafa Mansoor Buriro and other office bearers of the SMUTA reiterated unwavering support for SAUTA’s peaceful protest and urged the relevant authorities to take immediate action to ensure that salaries are released without further delay. They affirmed that the teaching community across Sindh stands united in advocating for the rights and welfare of all university employees.
